I'm still playing "catch up" a bit: This video is also from last December, when Janice and I were with Craig & Diane Bauman and their lovely/lively family in Ohio. Here we get to watch Weston, Miriam, Dorothy, and Lydia play a verse of "I Sing the Mighty Power of God," with some soft family noises in the background.
If you go to my 'MORE Music With Friends' page you'll find several more Bauman videos— of mixed instruments, and of Abigail playing on her Celestial lap harp made by her father, Craig, and her floor model Gothic harp made by Reuben Hostetler.
Of course we are so much more than mechanical music boxes— in the very image of God, we breathe! With all my heart, therefore, I want God to "wind me up" by his living Spirit, and to gain pleasure as He hears me singing. Yes, I delight to have such a gracious Father, one who can delight even in me.
So keep on singing! Our privilege today is to choose from millions of songs professionally recorded by professional singer/performers. But don't remain just a spectator!
Our higher privilege is to be a do-er of the Word, a sing-er of the eternal Song... making living music, from our living beings, for a living, loving Father.
Even if you can't play an instrument... even if you croak like a frog... do your best. Sing out His majesty, until you blend your perfect new voice into Heaven's unfathomable choirs.
