Greeting across the miles, as summer winds toward fall. I trust you have been having a good summer – busy enough, but not too busy to plant for the eternal Harvest.
As you probably know, the World, the Flesh, and the Devil make up an unholy trinity of evil, and every single day we must wage spiritual warfare against them.
This past January, I was reading a new book called “The Awe of God” which helped show me that my “fear of the Lord” was not as healthy as it should be. A few months after finishing the book, while seeking to align my heart with what the Scriptures teach about fearing God and being in awe of His authority and majesty, this song came to mind, which I hope will help me to keep my heart and my will where they should be. Many, many places we read about the mighty men of God who chose to walk carefully before Him, and could therefore be used for His glory. Here’s a scripture about our need for holiness, and a couple referring to the spiritual “sword” we are commanded to wear, strapping it ever close to our heart, flashing in action.
And Eph.6 lists our five other amazing spiritual weapons, warning us to always be persevering in prayers and watchings— to ensure we are victorious. Till next month, Blessings.
